Default MegaGlobe - The next big thing?

Megaglobe is the latest international search engine to hit the net official in August 2006. What do you think about the idea, and do you think they can become successful, and challenge the larger search engines one day?

They are currently investing alot of money into advertising, and have had many press releases.

What do you think? It seems to me as though they are a very professional approach, and they are willing to spend money on promoting the site. I think it could be successful in the long run, but not without effort and commitment.

A lot of people do not know that we will have sponsor listings that detects and
eradicates click fraud, they also need to know that
we are going to give a high commission to webmasters from the Megaglobe Ads program and
finally they need to know that a concept like Megaglobe is new, we will be the only
search engine representing the whole world.

Even though Google is the biggest search engine right now, they do not represent every
country, they have around 140 Googles, Megaglobe has 304.

Thats the latest statement they have issued about Megaglobe.

Its going to have a pretty difficult job trying to compete with the likes of Google.... MSN and Yahoo find it difficult as it is... so I hope that they have lots of money to spend (like you say).

For instance, if they are wanting to compete, they should also be buying up some of the country specific domains such as megaweb.co.uk.

Good luck to them, but I don't think they will be competing on as large a scale as they want. I will certainly have a look at them when they launch though, when it will be easier to make a judgement.

Latest Press Release,

Quote:
“Megaglobe supports the webmaster’s cause. We believe they play an important role in the search engine world,” said Megaglobe CEO Naima Moore.

“Search engines wouldn't be where they are if it wasn't for the webmasters, they are the reason for their success,” said Naima.

As well as making the adequate compensation of webmasters a priority, the search engine has also sponsored a range of forums in a bid to provide a platform for webmasters to voice their concerns. From these forums, the search engine company has discovered that webmasters believe they are not recognised for their support of current search engines.

“They have the feeling that they are being used and not recognized for the work that they do,” said Naima. “They find the customers by advertising, generate the funds and out of a keyword that is being charged up to $US100 a single click, the webmaster is getting a few cents!”

“I believe it's time for them to be recognised and this is exactly what Megaglobe wants to do,” said the Megaglobe CEO.

Naima has said that Megaglobe will share revenue generated from advertising keywords with webmasters more equitably thereby recognising the importance search engines place on their partnership with webmasters.

The search engine has also shown its support to achievers in other diverse areas by donating money to the rehabilitation of well-known BMX video cameraman Rich Montalvo who has recently been hospitalised with a serious injury.

Megaglobe will be launched in August.
