you can add the link on directory too

use one keyword in one page to get more upper rank

You can purchase some backlinks or just get your site submitted in some directory say..500 or 1000 (manual directory submissions) this will help your site to increase it's PR ..

Yeah directory submission is the best to start with and also participate in forums, blogs and social bookmarking website.

Submit to Directories, forum signatures and blogging also helps. Exchange links with relevant theme websites as they would be more willing to exhange links with you.
