I started a company www.nikhiltechnology.com . Its a combination of web design and web hosting. How can I promote my company to get more custumers? What does it take to run a successful web design/web hosting company? I feel like I'm doing the right stuff but the custumers just dont seem to be flowing.. are there any other free hosting and web design directories like this to submit my company to?

there is so many option to promote you site, you can add your promo... in Adsense,
I feel it's very good option and get target visitor also,

you can also add you website in web directory, Related forum and more...

you can also start the link exchange option for that

yes... these good option to attract the visitor to your site again and get the regular visitor on you site,

You can Google the phrases "web hosting directories" and "webmaster directories." Here you will find many directories to submit your URL. Of cousre, sumbit your URL to search engines as well.

For any formums you belong to, most will allow you to include the URL of your site in your signature. If you are able to, then do so. Also there are forums that allow you to advertise your services or to respond to people seeking web hosting.

As with anything, you must have a good business model and you must follow it exactly. For example, never planning on working a model that would produce a lost to your business or you'll hate it really soon. Focus on service. For web hosting, it's ok to resell as long as all of your clients receive good responding time from your server, and you must monitor your server(s) carefully.

Never give up as the hosting industry is very saturated. Don't expect your business will be flying high after a few months of initial launch.

I don't know much about web design, but if you plan to offer both services, I think that's a good idea.
