optimizing images

does anybody know how i can optimiz an image to make it smaller and load quicker?

If you are using the photoshop... it give you the good option to optimize the image,

use the save for web option to optimize the image , you can select the level of optimization in that option

The best free way to optimize jpg images is Irfanview. For gif images there are better solutions.

Using Photoshop for this task is like shooting mosquito from a cannon . But ofcourse it is not bad idea, if you have one.

Any basic graphic program with do. I use fireworks and photoshop. Also get Gimpshop it is free.

I use photoshop for optimize images. Its easy and better graphic software. Also try GIMP too. Its free software and better for new webmasters and users.

i use the GIMP it's good and free software and it should run on Windows 98/ME/NT4/2000/XP
