Generally Photoshop is the most widely used for graphics. There are others and it may depend on your computer platform.

Default Adobe mostly
I use the CS2 package and Flash 8 Pro right now to do most of my work. I use 3DS max 9 for 3D work. I'm trying to get into Painter.

To design graphics the best software is adobe photoshop cs3...
It have some awesome features like black and white pic. , blunding tool ..
