Default Illustrator vs. Photoshop For Logos

Illustrator and Photoshop are some of Adobe's great drawing and design programs. I have always used Photoshop to design my website templates and logos, but lately I have been wanting to use Illustrator for logos. This is because Illustrator produces vector images (they can be resized without any loss in quality). I have no experience with Illustrator, so I'm wondering if it would be best for me to take the time to learn how to use Illustrator? Does it have as many features as Photoshop? Is it as user-friendly as photoshop? I have spoken to people before and they claimed that although the images couldn't be resized, photoshop has the ability to make better logos.

What are your opinions on this?

Scalability is one of the main assets that makes Illustrator a suitable tool for logo design. Apart from that, Illustrator is more advanced and powerful in designing (or dealing with) typography. The brush tool seems more powerful in Illustrator as it has more options. Photoshop is mainly used for photo-editing and retouch works. Sometimes you may need to use combination of both Photoshop and Illustrator for creating your designs. Photoshop can fulfill your needs but having Illustrator skills will definitely open more doors.

Hope this helps!

Default Learn illustrator.. It will pay off

Illustrator is for your text editing purposes, and photoshop for image editing..
These are 2 different fields for which you are given more and more specialized tools in both of the tools.
As you have started off with photoshop, it would eb easy going with that..

But i suggest that you learn illustrator too.. i assure you the efforts u take will be paid off well..

regards,
Praveen

nice idea... but for me, i would prefer using illustrator rather than photoshop for making logos... because for me, simplicity is the best (for logos only)
