Personally, I don't get much visits from directories, not even dmoz, but sure can help get your website indexed and PR'ed.

same here. free one way backlinks maybe but not that much of traffic. I get more traffic in bookmarking sites and classifieds

Yeah I agree, but as far as I know groups promotions can help also..it can give you a traffic also...
