You still have to generate traffic to your site

There is no question as if its profitable or not. Whether its ready or you will need to make it, in both cases you will have to try hard to promote the website to drive traffic to that site.
The only posotive point in that is: you can save the designing and coding time, which you can utilise for promotion.
