You can do social bookmarking for your posts. In that way, you can have a decent amount of traffic and at the same time you can have backlinks too.
For a blog, I think you should concentrate with your main blog or the home page of your blog. Try to maximize the power of your meta tags (description, keywords and title) and do off-page optimization techniques. In that way, you can have high rankings with your targeted keywords/key phrases but of course, it takes time.
